watch the birdie.

Hey GUYS.
We aren't just IN pictures now and then, we take some too!

Mal, at my cabin in Heber.
I LOVE this picture of her.

This is Mallory at one of our favorite bands concert!
{Fleet Foxes}

Mallory and her Dad. <3 this one.

This is my 5 year old brother Trace at his last soccer game. Cute kid.

 Trace again.

 Mallory actually took this picture!

 And this one.

And this one! She is getting good!

This picture deserves a story.
A few weeks after me and Mallory had met, she took me on an adventure.
She told me, "Go buy some glow sticks," and that was it.
So I did.
Actually, I bought a TON of glow sticks.
In the dead of night we drove to an old tunnel and cut the tops off of the glow sticks, and threw the fluid all over the tunnel walls. It was so cool. I managed to get a couple good long exposure shots and I'm glad I did. This night gave me a major "holy smokes I really like this girl" moment. I'm so glad she took me to do this, and we hope to do it again!

Until next time!
Kisses!

who are you going to call?

Ghostbusters??

Ha. Like our costumes? So do we! We made most of them the week before our little Halloween Bash!
We went to a sporting goods store and bought ourselves a bunch of feathers to use! We also bought a bag of leather for our headbands and bracelets and what not. We also bought a couple of oversize tee shirts for our costumes. Mallory took the collar of one and made a headband. HAND SEWING on every single feather. she's pretty freakin' awesome if you ask me. What we didn't use of the tee shirts ended up being the main parts of our costumes. I made a sort of butt flap, and Mallory made her Indian dress. Are we handy or what?
I hope your Halloween was as fun as ours!

We each did our own face paint...I think its pretty obvious whose looks better. Mal's was perfect. Mine looks like some child painted it on me.

How good does she look as an Indian huh? And how handsome do I look in those pants? I should look handsome. They are $1000 suede pants, and do not ask me how I managed to wear them or how much it'll cost to fix the rip I put in them. Check out our arm bands. Dank bro.

Our glitter skulls! These were so fun to make, but be warned they were just as messy. We bought these bad boys at WalMart for a few dollars each. Add a bottle of glue, a few old makeup brushes, our awesome imaginations and BOOM. Glitter skulls. They turned out way better than we had hoped. All you do is 'paint' the glue on the skull and cover it with glitter! A perfect family project, but don't do it inside, or Mallory's garage. It's mess mess messy. The silver and red skull was a group effort. The purple one with the gold tooth was Miss Mallory's.

Everyone needs to eat a donut on a string once in their life. Unfortunately all the stores had left were sugar glazed, and you just can't not eat a donut on a string on Halloween! There was no other option! Mallory and I had sugar everywhere. Up our noses, in our eyes, even in my wee little belly button!

It's tradition in Mallory's family to play a little game at Halloween, called the Monster Mash. First, you get a nice toasty fire going. Second you write down a bunch of things to act out while you dance around the fire. Some of ours included, a Nazi, a werewolf, and someone who shat his pants(Mallory's Dad, Bill, picked that one out! Priceless!) Make them fairly obvious, but even more fun to act out. Lastly you play the Monster Mash song for all the neighbors to hear, and start your dance around the fire. Then someone tries to pick out what you were until everyone has been picked. It was my first time and I couldn't stop laughing. Thank you Hansen family!

We hope you had a great Halloween!
See you soon!

Hey now, don't be mad!

Sorry we haven't been on doing are "blogging duties" these couple of weeks. We were busy taking family pictures, celebrating Halloween, etc! Thank you all for being patient, and we promise to start doing a better job!

I won't write much on these because I don't want to spoil how perfect they are.

See you kids soon!

a little yellow slip of paper.

Hey kittens,
this is probably one of the few chances I will get to write without Mallory knowing whats going on. So I need to take full advantage. She is busy babysitting her adorable nephew Dax and not paying attention to me ha. SO...
I thought I would take this chance to tell you the story of how we met through MY eyes.

Once upon a time,
Our dishwasher died. Great start huh? Don't worry, it gets better. I was currently living the dream at the Art City Trolley Restaurant as a manager, and Manuel, a LEGEND at the Trolley, and our favorite dishwasher and salsa maker, passed away of pneumonia. He was there that morning, and died later that afternoon. Crazy how fast life can change. Speaking of how fast things can change, back to the story. I was wrapping up my shift, eager to get home and shower the daily grim off of me, while trying not to linger on the loss of my dear old friend, who taught me Spanish and made me laugh everyday.

Then I saw her.
At table one.
With her wonderful mother Marie, and my good friend Cary.
Eating a Wade's Wonder Burger.
With mild sauce and french fries.

Sadly the first thing I thought was "Wow, she is gorgeous. WAY too gorgeous for me. I have no chance of scoring a babe like that. Why? Why Lord must you tease me so?" Consigned to my fate, and feeling even worse, I resumed with my duties. It was then that her Mom called me over. It is important to note, that I knew her mother, she was one of my favorite people to serve and always had some pretty intensely awesome stories, and always made me laugh.

I remember her asking me "Do you date young girls?"
My mind instantly began to race.
Is she talking about her daughter?
What should I say?
Should I be funny?
I'm gonna throw up.

I don't exactly remember my response. I do remember wandering over to the table and making small talk and probably blushing and acting like an idiot all the while. I told them about Manuel and his passing, and how hard of a day it had been. Buuttt....none of that really mattered.

My mind was fixated on the beautiful girl at table one. Reluctant to pull myself away, I left with a goodbye and got back to my work. I'd be lying if I said my mind wasn't swimming with possibilities and what ifs.

I secretly snuck glances at the table, somewhat hoping she would already be looking my way. Holding up a banner or sign that read "DATE ME CHRIS!" That would have made things a whole lot easier.

After they had finished, they left with a simple goodbye and we all went our separate ways. I sat out of sight, and watched that beautiful girl walk out of my restaurant, thinking I would never see her again.

I strolled over to the table to talk to my good friend Cary, looked down at the table and saw a little yellow slip of paper addressed to someone named Chris.

"Awh man, Chris is one lucky gu..."
It was then that it all hit me.

I'M CHRIS!

Scribbled on that little piece of paper was a name, a number, and an invitation.

Let's hang out baby, or babe...neither of us are quite sure.
Unbeknown to me, Cary had talked me up to this girl. How he got her to leave me a number, I'll never know, but I do know that I am forever in his and Marie's debt.

My life has never been the same. Who would have thought, that she was the girl that would break all my rules, and teach me some of the most powerful lessons of life thus far. She is funny, adorable, and full of beautiful life. I am one lucky boy to be the one sharing this life with her. She is on my mind day and night and I always thank the good lord above  for sending her to me in my prayers. I love her fully, truly, and unconditionally.

Well...there it is guys. The story of how we started.
I hope none of you vomited or passed out at how cheesy this may have been, I'm just a sensitive guy okay?
I wish so badly I could do justice to the wonderful story on the pages of life we've shared.
I found the perfect girl, right when I stopped looking.
I hope I have what it takes to keep her around for awhile!

Thank you Mallory James, the girl who changed everything!
I love you so much it's gross.

Forever yours,

Christopher
